Australian Triple Crown Swimmer
One unforgettable journey.
Swimming has always been part of who I am — but marathon swimming taught me what’s possible when you stay curious, patient, and brave enough to keep going.
In 2026, I completed the Australian Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming — a journey that took me across oceans, coastlines, and rivers, and challenged me physically, mentally, and emotionally in ways I’ll never forget.
Each swim was completely different. Each one taught me something new. Together, they shaped not only my swimming journey, but the heart of what Swimwild Escape is all about.
What is the Australian Triple Crown?
Three iconic swims.
The Australian Triple Crown is a respected marathon swimming achievement, earned by completing three of Australia’s most iconic long-distance open water swims:
-
Port to Pub 25km, WA
-
Palm to Shelly Beach 24km, NSW
-
Derwent River Swim 34km, TAS
Each swim presents its own challenges — from cold water and changing conditions to long hours in the water that demand resilience, focus, and trust in yourself.

The Swims
Port to Pub — 25km
Fremantle to Rottnest Island | Western Australia
This was where my deep love for marathon swimming truly began.
The Port to Pub is an iconic ocean crossing — exposed, unpredictable, and incredibly rewarding. Swimming from the mainland to Rottnest Island requires respect for the ocean, confidence in your training, and the ability to stay calm when conditions change.
Completing multiple crossings here laid the foundation for everything that followed.
Palm to Shelly — 24km
Palm Beach to Shelly Beach | New South Wales
This swim is raw, wild, and beautiful.
Following the New South Wales coastline, Palm to Shelly is as technical as it is demanding. Headlands, swell, currents, and marine life keep you fully present every moment in the water.
This swim reminded me how important adaptability is — learning to work with the ocean rather than against it.
Derwent River — 34km
New Norfolk to Hobart | Tasmania
The Derwent River swim is often considered the toughest leg of the Triple Crown. The distance, water temperature, and mental endurance required make it a true test of perseverance.
Crossing the finish line here completed my Australian Triple Crown — a moment filled with gratitude, relief, and pride.
An experience I will never forget.
